Bento #1

Fish, vegetables, baby tomatoes, and white rice.

PREP TIME: 5 minutes (since these were all leftovers and all I did was reheat things)

I know that caption is so useless, but I can't remember the names of things. I think it's Tilapia fish, and the vegetables are something like bok choy, except obviously they're not white. But anyway...

So unexpectedly, I realized I had the chance to make my first bento today. There's some empty spaces (which you're not supposed to do), but I wanted to make sure that the top still fit back on. I wasn't going to take a picture at first, but after I made it I realized that it didn't look half bad. Considering I just piled in the food, I guess these things just have that ability to make anything cute... heh.

I did buy silicon baking [cupcake] cups just to use as food separators, but they're just a bit too tall for the box so I didn't use them. Since the fish and the vegetables are somewhat of the same nature (and the tomatoes have their own line of defense), I don't think mixing will be that big of a deal.

On another note, I don't think I've ever blogged this early in the morning (unless you count those 12AM-4AM posts). Then again, I would normally be rushing to school right now.

MICROWAVE/DISHWASHER: Yes

The box and detail.

The layers.

So yes, my bento box came in the the mail today, straight from Japan. I apologize about the crappy lighting and distracting background, but I was excited about getting it up here. Even though I wish this would be the first of many, since this is basically fancy, expensive tupperware (shipping is what really kills the deal), I don't think I'll be investing in more anytime soon.

But I'm grateful, and really quite excited if you can't already tell.

Blogger's Note: Coming across fabulous but numerous sites while in pursuit of my own interest, I tried to create a simple blog that would pull together both the basics and pictures in one place. While this is a new hobby of mine, I hope I could be of help to you as well.

Thanks for visiting!
